Project Management
At Upton Metal Works we understand the difficulties of managing building projects involving steelwork so we are happy to offer this extra service from start to finish and take control of the reins. In the event of a project already been started and even if the steels have been sourced from an alternative supplier, we can assess, advise and agree to complete the project to client satisfaction.Stainless or Traditional Steel Railings

SECURE YOUR OUTDOOR OIL TANK!
Insurance companies are urging their customers – especially those who live in rural areas – to consider using methods to prevent heating oil theft which has more than doubled. Almost £250,000 worth of oil was stolen in the first six months of 2011 when the cost of heating oil rose from 41p a litre to a punishing 71p a litre, as criminals targeted what has become known as "liquid gold". Insurer NFU Mutual, which carried out the research, reported the most expensive claim at £30,000 comprising £3,000 for the cost of the stolen oil and £27,000 to clean up the ground contaminated by oil spilt when the thieves damaged the tank. Unfortunately, while oil prices remain high, rural homeowners especially will remain a target. With winter temperatures going down and heating oil prices going up, it is worth considering methods of safeguarding your oil tank.
It is all very well planting prickly bushes and shrubs to hide the tank but this alone will not deter the criminals as oil companies even report that thieves follow their supply lorries to identify which tanks have been topped up!
Upton Metal Works offer a choice of steel enclosure designed to fit around your existing oil tank and plinth. The construction can be either galvanised steel panels, sheet metalwork, or palisade-style fencing with an inspection hatch over the filler and access for valve pipe. In order to provide a Quotation we will require the brand name of your tank together with dimensions and your preference re design, choice of steel and finish (powdercoat recommended). Prices range from £2,500 dependent on specification.

The latest survey by insurance company, NFU Mutual revealed this type of theft cost UK farmers 52.7million last year, an annual rise of six per cent.
